From the perspective of raw materials, the sources of filament are diverse and abundant. Chemical fiber filaments are made from various polymers, with polyester filaments derived from the polymerization reaction of terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol, which have a wide range of raw material sources and relatively controllable costs, laying the foundation for large-scale production; Nylon filament is made from polyamide as raw material and is synthesized through complex chemical processes, possessing unique performance advantages. In terms of production technology, the production of chemical fiber filaments is like a precise technological dance. The melt spinning method heats and melts the polymer, then extrudes a fine stream through a spinneret and rapidly solidifies into silk in cooling air; The solution spinning method involves dissolving the polymer into a solution and spinning it, followed by processes such as stretching, curling, and heat setting to precisely control the crystallinity, orientation, and morphological structure of the filament, thereby creating filament products with different performance characteristics. The acquisition of silk requires traditional processes such as raising silkworms, cocooning, selecting cocoons, boiling cocoons, and spinning silk. Each step contains the craftsmanship and wisdom passed down by our ancestors, in order to extract continuous, smooth, and fine filaments from silkworm cocoons.

 

Specification characterization is a key means of finely distinguishing long filaments. Denier (D) is a commonly used indicator, which measures the thickness of 9000 meters of filament by measuring its weight in grams at a predetermined moisture regain. The higher the value, the thicker the filament. For example, 30D filament is slender and lightweight, suitable for weaving lightweight summer clothing fabrics; The 150D filament is relatively thick and is commonly used to make thick winter clothing or industrial textiles. Equally important is dtex, which provides precise quantitative basis for the standardized production and application of long fibers by measuring the weight grams of 10000 meters of fibers at a predetermined moisture regain.
